Common Questions About Our Services
We understand you may have questions about our services. Here are some of the most frequently asked questions we receive, along with detailed answers to help you understand our processes and offerings better.
What services does Stearns County Abstract offer?
We provide a range of services including title insurance, abstract services, real estate closings, title searches and reports, contract for deed closings, and name/ownership verification.
Can I close on my home remotely?
Yes — in many cases, you can complete your closing online using secure Remote Online Notarization (RON) in Minnesota.
This means you can sign your documents from home (or anywhere) using a secure video connection and identity verification process. It’s a convenient option if you’re out of town, have a busy schedule, or simply prefer not to come into the office.
Not every transaction qualifies for remote closing, but we’re happy to review your situation and let you know what options are available.
How can I request a title search?
You can request a title search by contacting our office via phone or email, or by visiting our website and filling out the service request form.
Can I get a quote for your services?
Yes, we provide free quotes for all our services. You can find our rate calculator here. If you need more details, give us a call or send an email.
Can I choose and shop for my own title company in Minnesota?
Yes. In Minnesota, buyers and sellers have the right to choose their title company.
While a Realtor or lender may suggest a company they regularly work with, the final decision is yours. Just like you shop for a lender or insurance provider, you can compare title companies based on service, communication, experience, and fees.
If you have a preferred title company, simply let your agent or lender know at the beginning of the transaction.
